Alamo Bridges

Alamo Bridges is a workforce development and professional training initiative housed at Texas A&M University San Antonio (A&M-SA), Department of Educator & Leadership Preparation. The project is designed to strengthen pathways to Competitive Integrated Employment for Texans with disabilities while enhancing the effectiveness of vocational rehabilitation services.

Through collaboration with community partners, employers, educators, and vocational transition specialists (VTS), Alamo Bridges supports innovative, evidence-based practices that improve career alignment, workforce readiness, and sustainable employment outcomes.

Alamo-Bridges-ShieldThe mission of the Alamo Bridges project is to develop and implement an innovative, evidence-based rehabilitation training program that empowers VTS professionals and paraprofessionals to effectively support Texans with disabilities in achieving meaningful employment and independent living outcomes. 

The Alamo Bridges Model leverages the unique strengths of A&M-SA and its community partners to prepare VTS to support youth and adults with disabilities in achieving Competitive Integrated Employment and independent living goals, with a strong emphasis on;

The Alamo Bridges program model meets the Absolute Priority of creating an innovative rehabilitation training on emerging VR counseling, engagement, and service delivery strategies, leading to quality employment in 21st-century careers for Texans with disabilities. 

Alamo Bridges Program Summer Mini Conference

Alamo Bridges is hosting a virtual summer mini conference via Zoom on Friday, July 10 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
